Fresh

Fresh was obviously inspired by those with the seemingly impossible ability to balance baskets of fruits and goods on their heads. It was also a personal challenge to myself, as I'd never attempted to even draw a skull before, let along stylize one in such a way that would work for a print. This piece was especially exciting for me as I drew the concept, and I was incredibly excited to print it. I hope you find it just as interesting!

As usual, this print started as a sketch on paper, which I then transferred to the linoleum to carve. Like all of my prints, it is inked and printed by hand, but because this print is larger than most of my others, I use different paper. As with Growth, I like to use Thai Mulberry paper.
